LETTER: Supports the EPO and capital levies for Crescent School District

I am asking that the voters in the Crescent School District vote yes on the educational programs and operations (EP&O) levy, formerly known as the M&O levy and on the capital levy which we are currently running.

These are replacement levies which are needed to continue the level of educational offerings and which are vital to the continued maintenance of our school.

Crescent School has shown good stewardship in using funds from the present capital levy to undertake and complete the projects which were of greatest importance to the community 4 years ago.

This levy which would provide $125,000 per year for four years at an approximate rate of $0.348 per $1,000 of assessed value is running out.

The EP&O levy will provide $520,000 per year for four years at an approximate rate of $1.446 per $1,000 of assessed value.

This levy is needed to upgrade technology, partially fund special education, fund part time services of a school nurse, and other services, some of which are state mandated but not fully funded.

The EP&O levy also helps to provide education enhancements such as music, shop and extra curricular activities.

I appreciate your consideration of and affirmative vote on these two important requests for the continued support of Crescent School.

Go Loggers.
