After watching the Oct. 5 Clallam County League of Women Voters Public Utility District candidate forum, my clear choice is Ken Hays.
He was energetic, laser-focused on the breadth of issues and required agency changes needed, and modernizing the county’s energy portfolio.
Having run for offices and served on commissions myself, I have a deep appreciation for the service of the PUD commissioner asking to be re-elected, but after his two decades in that position, the new candidate seeking that position, Ken Hays, will bring to the position new energy, modern perspectives, a unique background from his having served as councilmember and mayor for city of Sequim and as a nationally recognized architect that well understands the energy market and energy options available.
