LETTER: Public safety

As I needed to go to the grocery store the other day, I did the following things: made sure I had my driver’s license with me, fastened my seat belt, stopped when I came to a sign or red light and waited my turn, used my turn-signal when changing lanes or turning, parked between the white lines at the store and put on my mask before leaving the car.

These are all mandated actions that are in place for the health and safety of everyone.

I do not understand how putting on a mask is considered different from other actions for public safety.
