LETTER: Port Angeles City Council candidates forum demonstrated best of democracy in action

I appreciate all of the candidates and audience members who attended the Clallam County League of Women Voters forum in Port Angeles on Wednesday night, July 12.

There were six candidates for Port Angeles City Council present, a moderator, timers and about 65 audience members.

The league prides itself on presenting debates and forums in a nonpartisan way, and the forum was an example of civil discourse at its best.

All of the candidates answered questions, demonstrating respect and consideration for everyone.

Clallam County residents can be proud of this public demonstration of democracy in action.

Watch for dates and times for League of Women Voters events to come for the general election this fall.

Linda Benson,

Sequim
