Suicide and self-harm rates among LGBTQ youths are alarming and increase when those youths are raised in families who are unsupportive and when they are exposed to targeted physical and verbal harassment.
From advocating for bathroom rights to being a mentor and supporting your local high school’s GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance), there are many ways to be visible as a supportive adult and ally.
