LETTER: Here’s hoping our world changes for the betterment of all

These past months, I have kept my opinion to myself. Each of us has our own beliefs, our own value system, our own moral compass.

When my kids were younger, I would tell them, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” and actually believing that, I have held my tongue.

This Wednesday morning following Election Tuesday, my wish for those who are disappointed, disillusioned, angry — I know that feeling well. I felt it in 2008 and again in 2012.

But you know? Life does go on.

There is no question that there is a lot wrong with our country.

However, that said, there is also a hell of a lot that is right.

We need to focus on that, and rather than tearing down, we need to build up so that hopefully one day when people in the future look back on our history, they will see that as a nation, we took this opportunity to change for the better.

The people have spoken, and they want change. Let us all hope and pray that it is a change for the better, for all.
