LETTER: Don’t forget to register to vote

There are plenty of options to sign up: online, by mail or in person.

We are fortunate to live in a state where voter registration is so easy.

Options are online, by mail or in person.

To be able to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old by the next election.

The deadline for registration for the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 10 for all online or by-mail registration and for address and name-change updates for existing registered voters.

The deadline is Oct. 31 for in-person registration for new Washington state voters at the county courthouse elections office.

Register online at www.myvote.wa.gov using your Washington state driver’s license, permit or ID.

If you don’t have one of these, you can register by mail or in person with the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Voter registration forms are available at your local public library.

Oct. 19 starts the voting period for the November election with the mailing of ballots.

This election is very important.

Let your voice be heard.
