LETTER: Cal Thomas’ use of partisan think tank research disguished as honest study

Cal Thomas’ July 20 column on the Peninsula Daily News’ Commentary page, “Porking Out On Your Money,” refers to the Federal Aviation Administration through the Airport and Airways Trust Fund limiting competition at airports.

This accusation is provided by the Cato Institute, which is referred to as a public policy think tank.

A think tank imparts the image of learned scientists and analysts huddled together to provide impartial data for use in public policymaking.

This is far from the truth.

The Cato Institute was founded by Charles Koch to promote libertarian principles.

Cal Thomas is steeped in partisan dogma disguised as honest research.
