LETTER: Antiquated law on presidential requirements limits our options

Some of our severely outdated, antiquated laws seem to defy common sense.

Why, for instance, is it mandatory that our president be born in the United States?

Our country was founded by immigrants.

This past election demonstrates that we are severely limiting our variety of choice by insisting that the candidates be born here.

An alien from Mars would have been better than what we ended up with.
