Rivers to lift voice at Coyle’s Concert in the Woods this Saturday

COYLE — Michael Stephen Rivers, a musician from Port Angeles, will perform at Saturday’s Concert in the Woods.

The all-ages concert, by donation, begins at 7:30 p.m. at Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be served at intermission.

“Like fresh bread out of Love’s kitchen, Michael Rivers’ songs come ready to nourish,” organizer Norm Johnson said on his website at www.coyleconcerts.com.

Rivers performs in churches, coffeehouses and small concert halls around the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.

He studied singing and songwriting at Berklee College of Music in Boston and earned a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Now he works as solo performer, a vocal coach and as the director for the Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers.

He and his wife, Nan, and their children live in Port Angeles.
