SEQUIM — Peninsula Fiber Artists will host a reception for the opening of “Color Play” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The fiber art exhibit is on display from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through April 28 at the Fifth Avenue Gallery, 500 W. Hendrickson Road.
The display features art quilts, jewelry, sculptures and wearable art by 18 regional textile artists.
The exhibit’s artists will be at the gallery to answer questions about their media and inspiration during the reception.
The exhibit includes works by Sequim artists Linda Carlson, Kathie Cook, Liisa Fagerlund, Lynn Gilles and Susan Melka; Port Angeles artists Evette Allerdings and Michelle Johnson; Port Townsend artists Leslie Dickinson, Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry, Sue Gale, Annie Karl, Kindy Kemp, Cynthia LeRouge and Debra E. Olson; Susan Sawatsky of Nordland; Larkin Van Horn of Port Hadlock; Donna Lee Dowdney of Bainbridge Island; and Daera Dobbs of Poulsbo.
Many of the pieces in the exhibit are available for purchase directly from the artists.
Peninsula Fiber Artists meet the second Wednesday of each month, alternating between the Gardiner Community Center and the Northwind Art space at Fort Worden.
