Making deer friends in Port Townsend

Sophia McKee, owner of Rainier Reindeer Ranch in Buckley, directs the nose of Bunny, an 8-year-old reindeer, to the raisin treat offered by a young girl during the first Magic of Christmas event that opened on Thursday night at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St., Port Townsend. Although reindeers were on site only for opening night, a myriad of free activities are planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Tuesday, with special events planned on Christmas Eve.
