Guild issues call for artists

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Arts Guild has openings for artists and craftspeople who make their own unique work and would like to sell it at the guild’s juried fairs.

Applications can be found at www.porttownsendarts guild.org.

Applicants are urged to apply soon since categories are limited.

Port Townsend Arts Guild is a self-supporting nonprofit organization which gives local students scholarships to major in the arts.

• The first fair is outdoors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 19.

It’s the 31st Uptown Street Fair in Port Townsend’s uptown district. It will offer a parade, an arts and crafts fair, farmers market, music, children’s art activities and food vendors.

• Next is the 52nd Crafts by the Dock Fair held on Sept. 9-10 in downtown, Port Townsend’s waterfront, one block from the Wooden Boat Festival, set for Sept. 8-10.

Boats, music and 55 arts booths will be near City Hall and on the City Civic Plaza.

• The 31st Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair will be on all three floors of the Port Townsend Community Center at Lawrence and Tyler streets.

A portion of each sale is donated to the Jefferson County Food Banks.

This fair is not a Christmas bazaar but has craftspeople who make year-round handmade items for gift giving.

All artists are juried.
