PORT TOWNSEND — Local artists Julie Read and Dana Sullivan will host the Bunker, a free art studio for teenagers, this Friday at Northwind Art School at Fort Worden State Park.
The demonstration this time: pumpkin carving with pro tools of many kinds.
Middle and high school students are encouraged to join the activities from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the art school, in Building 324 at the fort. Parent permission slips and information are found on the Courses page at North windArt.org.
The Bunker, sponsored every other Friday by Northwind Art and PT Artscape, is a space for sixth- through 12th-graders to explore art in community with their peers.
Supplies and snacks are provided, along with encouragement from the professional artists who volunteer to staff the studio. More Bunker afternoons are set for Nov. 10, Nov. 24, Dec. 8 and Dec. 22.
