Arts to Elders to tune up Stringology mixture this Tuesday

PORT TOWNSEND — Stringology will perform at Discovery View on Tuesday.

The free performance will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the facility at 1051 Hancock St.

Arts to Elders is presenting the concert in conjunction with the Northwind Arts Center.

It is sponsored by the Port Townsend Arts Commission.

Stringology performs Gypsy swing and classic American jazz from the 1930s and ’40s.

It features Eric Bogart on solo guitar, Terianne Stratton on ukulele and Tracy Grisman on string bass.

The music is inspired by the likes of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie and is performed in the style created by the Gypsy guitarist from France, Django Reinhardt and his Quintet of the Hot Club de France.

Bogart has performed throughout the U.S., in Europe and in South America. Among his musical credits are concerts with the Boston Pops and Benny Goodman.
