PORT ANGELES — New voter identification cards will be mailed to all 45,500 active registered voters in Clallam County in the next week, said Patty Rosand, county auditor.
Clallam County recently consolidated its 95 voter precincts to 67 as part of its decennial redistricting process, a move Rosand said will save at least $3,000 in printing costs for each countywide election.
Everyone living in Port Angeles, Sequim and Forks, and some in unincorporated parts of the county, will get new precinct numbers.
“Although not all precincts had changes, I have decided to mail a new card to all voters in all precincts,” Rosand said.
“Most have not received a new card in at least 10 years unless they have moved.”
The new cards reflect the names and numbers of the new precincts, as well as the voters’ names and mailing addresses, she said.
Those who do not receive new registration cards in the mail by April 27 are urged to contact the Auditor’s Office at 360-417-2221 or at Suite 1 in the Clallam County Courthouse at 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
