In the photo at right, the central hall of the Port Angeles Library receives patrons Tuesday after the area’s reopening following a two-week renovation.
The reference desk was moved, a central checkout area was replaced by a customer service desk and self-checkout kiosk, and a roomier “living room” area was created, Assistant Director Margaret Jakubcin said.
Along with replacing worn carpeting, the redo created a more intuitive layout, she added.
The $72,000 project was funded through donations from the Port Angeles Friends of the Library and other private donors.
