Norm Dicks signs first lobby client. Power group given representation by former congressman

WASHINGTON — Former North Olympic Peninsula congressman Norm Dicks has acquired a lobbying client, a political newsgathering organization based in the nation’s capital reported.
Dicks is lobbying on behalf of the Columbia River Treaty Power Group, based in Portland, Ore., according to Politico.
The group is composed of “utility entities engaged in negotiations related to the Columbia River Treaty with Canada,” according to the a Senate filing required from all lobbyists.
Alcoa Inc., PNGC Power, Seattle City Light, Tacoma Power and the Washington PUD Association are among those funding the effort, Politico reported.
Dicks, a Democrat from Belfair first elected to Congress in 1977, began representing the North Olympic Peninsula following redistricting in 1992.
Retired last year
He retired from Congress last year.
In May, he took a job as senior policy counsel with Van Ness Feldman, a law firm and lobbyist in both Washingtons specializing in energy and environmental issues.
