SEQUIM β€” Lary Coppola has resigned as executive director of the North Peninsula Building Association after fewer than three months in the job, board President Garret DelaBarre confirmed Wednesday.

Coppola, who started July 29, resigned Oct. 15.

DelaBarre said the association is advertising for a new executive director.

He declined further comment.

Coppola could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

A former Port Orchard mayor, Coppola had been commuting from Port Orchard to the association’s office in Sequim.

He replaced former North Olympic Building Association Executive Director FaLeana Wech, who became communications and public relations director for the Building Industry Association of Washington last summer.

Wech started with the North Peninsula Building Association in February 2009.

The association, which represents builders and associates of the building industry, has more than 275 members, according to its website, www.npba.info.

β€œThe organization’s members are committed to fulfilling the mission of advocating constant improvement of building and business practices to provide quality construction in our community,” the website says.
