The biggest free public Thanksgiving Day feast in East Jefferson County traditionally is at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road.
The meal will be served from noon to 3 p.m. at the center, with volunteers delivering meals to those who can’t get to the center.
The meal is sponsored by the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and Olympic Community Action Programs.
Last year, 330 people were fed at the annual gathering, with most sitting in the dining room, while 80 meals were delivered to homes, center Director James Jenkins said.
The menu includes turkey, ham, salad, rolls, carrots, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, coffee, tea and pumpkin pie.
To have a meal delivered to your home or to volunteer, phone 360-385-2571, ext. 6357.
■ A community feast also is planned in Brinnon, where about 50 were served last year.
The free meal will be at 3 p.m. at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101, at 3 p.m. No one will be turned away.
Turkey, dressing, gravy and mashed potatoes will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring side dishes such as salads, desserts and beverages.
A crowd is expected, as two restaurants normally open for Thanksgiving will be closed.
To RSVP, phone 360-796-4350 as soon as possible.
