Jefferson voters return 11.5 percent of primary ballots

PORT ANGELES — Jefferson County voters had by Tuesday returned 2,622 primary ballots, or 11.47 percent, of the 22,851 mailed to registered voters last Wednesday, election officials reported.
In Clallam County, 3,771 primary ballots, or 8 percent, of the 47,132 mailed to registered voters had been returned, county Auditor Patty Rosand said.
Ballots must be postmarked for the all-mail primary by Aug. 5.
Ballots also can be dropped off by 8 p.m. Aug. 5 at one of the following locations:
■ Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
■ Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock.
All registered voters should now have a ballot.
Forty-four undeliverable ballots were returned Tuesday, voter registration Director Sandi Eldridge said.
