Half-acre fire burning in national forest near Lake Crescent

LAKE CRESCENT — A wildfire was spotted Sunday afternoon in a remote, inaccessible area northwest of Lake Crescent.

As of 5 p.m. Sunday, the fire was burning about a half-acre north of the lake in Olympic National Forest, said Barb Maynes, spokeswoman for Olympic National Park, which has boundaries near the fire.

No additional information about the fire was immediately available.
