Port Angeles High School to fete homecoming this week

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School Roughriders are planning activities for Homecoming 2014, “A Rider for All Seasons,” from Monday through Saturday.

Activities are for the homecoming football game in which the Roughriders will play Olympic High School start at 7 p.m. Friday at Civic Field at Third and Race streets.

Each class at the high school at 304 E. Park Ave. has taken a theme for the week. For seniors, it’s summer; juniors are winter; sophomores are fall and freshmen spring.

■ Monday: Spirit Dress Up Day — What are You Looking At? (Wacky Wear); Buff Puff Game, gym, 7 p.m.

■ Tuesday: Spirit Day — Dress as Your Favorite Fictional Character.

■ Wednesday: Spirit Dress Up Day — Class Color Day, Class Mural Display, Student Center; flag football/tug-o-war, Elks Field, 7:30 p.m., with admission by donation of food for the Port Angeles Food Bank or the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society.

■ Thursday: Spirit Dress Up Day — Class Theme Day; advisory door decoration contest judging.

■ Friday: Green & White Spirit Day begins with the morning homecoming assembly; royalty to be crowned.

Classes will perform lip-sync routines. Performances are planned by the dance team, band, cheerleaders and NJROTC.

The Homecoming Parade will start at 5:30 p.m. from the parking lot of the Clallam County Courthouse at 223 E. Fourth St. and end at Civic Field for the game.

Halftime entertainments will include performances by the marching band, cheer squad and dance team, and will feature homecoming royalty and a carriage race.

■ Saturday: Homecoming Dance, gym, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the school.
