WEEKEND: Movie musical series set to kick off with ‘Chicago’ on Saturday, Sunday in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — A new, all-musicals movie series will splash onto the big screen with “Chicago,” that Oscar-winning picture starring Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere and Queen Latifah, this Saturday and Sunday.
Show times for this 2002 winner of the Best Picture statuette are 4 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Uptown Theatre, 1120 Lawrence St., with tickets available at the box office the day of the show.
The Uptown and Key City Public Theatre are presenting the series, with tickets at $8 for general admission, $7 for seniors 65 and older and students 17 and younger and $11 for the VIP section.
The musical movie series will continue next month with “West Side Story,” (1961) followed by “Gypsy” (1962) in November and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” (1966) in December.
