SEQUIM — The Sequim-Dungeness Hospital Guild Thrift Shop, 204 W. Bell St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Featured this month are fall fashions, furniture, pictures, books, jewelry, kitchen and household articles, and holiday items.
All white-tagged items will be offered at half-price.
Volunteers and consignors are welcome.

AAUW PT meets
PORT TOWNSEND — There will be an AAUW Port Townsend branch meeting at the Elks Lodge, 550 Otto St., from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
“Who Ya Gonna Call?: Access to Emergency Services and the Role of the Red Cross in Our Community” is the focus of the meeting.
Speakers Dana Michaelsen and Anne Parsons will highlight the importance of women taking charge of their health care and learning how to handle emergency situations.

Hymn Sing slated today at PT center
PORT TOWNSEND — A Hymn Sing will be held at the Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center, 3918 San Juan Ave., from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.
Attendees can choose the hymns and gospel tunes to sing.
All are welcome to this free event.
‘Foundations 101’
PORT ANGELES — A new class titled “Foundations 101” will begin at First Christian Church, 2606 S. Race St., at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
The class is free and is open to the public.
Christian background and beliefs will be taught, as well as the reasons for baptism and communion.
The meaning of Advent and Lent will be explained. Topics to be covered will include how to find certain answers in the Bible, how to pray more effectively and more.
A light lunch will be provided.

Central Europe talk
PORT TOWNSEND — First Presbyterian Church of Port Townsend, 1111 Franklin St., will host a missionary presentation at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Burkhard Paetzold is traveling through the Northwest and will speak about the current situation in Central Europe ministry.
Paetzold grew up in East Berlin and lives on the edge of the city, where he serves as Eastern Europe regional liaison for the Reformed Church and the Presbyterian Church.
His territory includes Germany, Hungary and Romania.
His ministry field has been primarily with the Roma people of Central Europe.
Sunday service
PORT ANGELES — Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St., will hold a 10:30 a.m. service Sunday with guest speaker the Rev. Barbara Wuest.
The lesson will be “All of It, All of You, All You All.”
Wuest is a New Thought/Center for Spiritual Living minister.
Free child care is available during the service.
A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Weekly youth group
PORT ANGELES — Hillcrest Baptist Church, 205 Black Diamond Road, is offering after-school youth groups for middle and high schoolers.
High schoolers meet at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday, and middle schoolers meet at 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
There will be games, food, music and Bible study.

Good News Clubs
PORT ANGELES — Child Evangelism Fellowship will begin weekly Good News Clubs this month at Dry Creek Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Greywolf Elementary schools.
The Good News Clubs are for children ages 5-12 to gather to sing songs, play games to help memorize a Bible verse and hear a visualized Bible story that applies God’s Word to what is happening in their lives.
All children who attend must have a signed parent/guardian registration form, which can be obtained from the school office or at www.cefop.us.
