NEWS BRIEFS: Sequim Civic Center exhibit open this evening . . . and other items

SEQUIM — The Sequim Civic Center will be open with a special exhibit during tonight’s First Friday Art Walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“What Sequim Means to Me,” a collection of photography, paintings, fiber art and sculpture by local residents, is on display in the lobby of the Civic Center at 152 W. Cedar St., at the intersection of Cedar and Sequim avenues.

Artists Gina Cox and Alan Halfhill and Sequim Arts Advisory Commission members Steven Humphrey, Eileen Cummings and Patsy Mattingley will be on hand to meet visitors during the Art Walk.

Dine to Donate

SEQUIM — Black Bear Diner in Sequim will donate 15 percent of its proceeds to the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic during Dine to Donate on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The portion of proceeds that come in between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. that day will go to the clinic.

Sequim’s free clinic provides urgent and chronic medical care for the uninsured and underinsured in the community.
