LAPUSH — Coast Guard patrollers discovered a 50-foot motor cruiser had sunk at its moorings in the Quileute Marina.

The Nicole Leann, which was discovered Monday, was unoccupied, according to Petty Officer Don Boyer of U.S. Coast Guard Station Quillayute River.

It apparently was not leaking fuel, he said.

Ownership of the boat was unknown, as was the reason it sank, although Boyer said it was not a derelict.

“We won’t know until divers come up [to LaPush] and inspect it and they eventually haul it out,” Boyer said.

He said he didn’t know when salvage might take place.
