PORT ANGELES — Serenity House of Clallam County’s Housing Resource Center in Port Angeles has moved across the street to 520 E. First St. to serve people who need help with housing.

Its telephone number remains 360-565-5041.

It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

“This is a good move to a better space, so we didn’t want to delay moving once our facilities staff got the space ready,” said Kim Leach, Serenity House executive director.

Employment, financial and life skills classes also will move to the new location today.

A grand opening is being planned for May 1, with a ribbon-cutting at 1:30 p.m.

The former Housing Resource Center space at the Tempest building, 535 E. First St., will be available for special events, such as a Zumbathon fundraiser for Serenity House set for May 17.

The move and fundraiser are part of the agency’s response to a funding shortfall of $400,000.
