DISCOVERY BAY — A Forks teenager was injured when the car she was riding in wrecked at the U.S. Highway 101-state Highway 104 interchange early Monday.

Yulissa K. Beltran-Hernandez, 13, was transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.

Beltran-Hernandez’ condition was not available later Monday.

According to the State Patrol report, Caritina Beltran-Hernandez, 36, of Forks was driving a black 2002 Cadillac Escalade westbound on Highway 104 at 4:26 a.m.

The Escalade was exiting to northbound Highway 101 when Beltran-Hernandez fell asleep at the wheel.

The vehicle left the roadway to the left, hit a pole and rolled over, coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Yulissa Beltran-Hernandez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, according to the State Patrol.

The driver and a passenger, Socorro C. Dominguez, 59, of Olympia, were not injured and were wearing seat belts, the report said.

The report said neither drugs nor alcohol were thought to have played a role in the wreck.

Driver fatigue was listed as the cause of the wreck, and Caritina Beltran-Hernandez was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
