FORKS — Forks’ Keira Johnson and Kyra Neel, who were instrumental in leading the Spartans to their first league title in many years, were named to the Pacific 2B League first team.

Johnson, a junior, was the leading scorer for the Spartans with multiple games this year of more than 20 points. Neel, a senior, also was a huge contributor in points and rebounds.

The Spartans were co-champions of the Pacific 2B League, their first league championship since 2008. Making the second team was Forks senior Kadie Wood.

Johnson, Neel and Wood also made the league’s all-academic team, along with teammates Alyna Centeno, Chloe Gaydeski-St. John and Katelynn Wallerstedt.

Forks’ (14-6) season continues Friday with a regional contest in Cheney against Northwest Christian.

The Spartans’ Brody Lausche made the boys honorable mention team.

The all-academic team includes Lausche and teammates Brandon Galeana, Klaton Helvey, Landen Olson and Ryan Rancourt.

The girls MVP was Karsyn Freeman of Raymond and the boys co-MVPs were Morgan Anderson of Raymond and Beckett Turner of Ilwaco.
