AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Lincoln Park BMX raises over $6,700; NPFC wins against Harbor Force 2

PORT ANGELES — Lincoln Park BMX raised more than $6,700 during its Race for Life Fundraiser on Sunday.
Race for Life proceeds support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The total puts the Lincoln Park BMX as the fourth-highest fundraising track in the nation.
Racers George Williams, Sean Coleman, Bradan Gray, Zebastian Ferrier-Dixon, Kristopher Giffin, Wayne Goldsbary, Orion Hedin, Andy Goldsbary, Cash Coleman and top fundraiser Kylin Weitz raised $5,500 of the total.
Wilder Senior loses close game
BELLINGHAM — Wilder Sr.’s bats continue to be active, but they gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh to drop their fourth straight, 10-9, to Bellingham Post No. 7 on Sunday.
Wilder managed 11 hits in the see-saw affair that saw five lead changes. Entering the seventh inning, the game was tied 7-7. Wilder Sr. scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but gave up three runs, two of them unearned, in the bottom of the inning.
Logan Olson had a great game, going 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, a walk, a run scored, two runs driven in and two stolen bases.
John Vaara was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base, while Jacob Felton was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs. Conner Bear had a double, a run scored and an RBI, while Michael Grubb scored two runs and stole two bases.
Trey Baysinger pitched the ninth and took the loss.
Wilder Sr. (2-3 in league) played a doubleheader Sunday against Post No. 7 in Bellingham. They next play in the Garrettson Tournament in Yakima beginning on Thursday, then get ready to host the Dick Brown Memorial Tournament at Civic Field July 1-4.
Wilder Jr. lost a pair of doubleheaders on the road this weekend. They lost two close games 4-3 and 6-5 to Stanwood on Saturday and 8-3 to Blaine and 11-3 to Lynden on Sunday.
Wilder Jr. is off to play in the Brent Edwards Tournament in Selah beginning on Thursday. They return to play a series of home games at Volunteer Field at July 2, 3 and 4.

Northern Peninsula Football Club wins
GIG HARBOR — The Northern Peninsula Football Club got back on the winning track with a 5-2 win on the road Sunday against Harbor Force 2.
The win keeps the fledgling Port Townsend-based elite soccer team in second place in the Western Washington Premier League 2. The NPFC gets another crack at unbeaten first-place team Seattle Umoja in Port Townsend on July 25.
Scoring goals for NPFC were Orion Weinblatt, Joost Besijn and David Rowe in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Silas DeWyse scored a goal for NPFC on a header off a corner kick to make it 4-0.
In the second half, Harbor Force 2 rallied with a pair of goals. One came on a penalty kick and the team scored another goal on a corner.
Ryan Tolbert put the game out of reach with a goal in the 90th minute for NPFC.
The NPFC (4-1-2) next plays at Gala FC in Arlington on Sunday. This is a team the Olympic Peninsula club beat 4-1 in May.
NPFC has scheduled a couple of nonleague friendlies. The first will be July 3 at Albert Haller field in Sequim against a Seattle U-19 select team. Team manager Besijn said another friendly will be played at Memorial Field in Port Townsend on July 10, though an opponent has not been picked yet.
