Avalanche on Hurricane Ridge Road

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — An avalanche blocked the Hurricane Ridge Road near the summit for nearly two hours Friday.

Olympic National Park said that the road was blocked from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

“Falling snow and rocks are not uncommon this time of year,” the park said, asking drivers to watch for hazards on the road to the ski area.
