PORT ANGELES — The Festival of Trees took in a record $127,000 at its annual gala this year.

Kathy Skinner and Pat Elmer’s tree, “Tempting Essentials for Christmas,” was the top auction tree at the Friday night gala and went for $7,000.

Designer’s Choice

Suzie Van Ausdle’s tree, “So Many Books, So Little Time,” was selected by tree designers as the Designer’s Choice Award winner.

Those who attended the gala had the opportunity to win any of the 52 trees that were decorated by area designers.

The trees came with premiums, such as a trip to Washington, D.C., or a Seahawks jersey signed by Russell Wilson.

The annual event is a three-day fundraiser for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation and this year was presented by Sequim Health & Rehabilitation.

Money raised will be used to support many departments at Olympic Medical Center.
