BRINNON: Two injured in U.S. Highway 101 crash

Two women were injured in a single-car crash Monday on U.S. Highway 101 near Brinnon, authorities say.

Joy Nelson, 40, of Kelso was driving south at about 1:15 p.m. when her 1989 Toyota 4Runner left wet roadway and went into a ditch, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Nelson and her passenger, 45-year-old Carol M. Becker of Longview, were taken by ambulance to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

Nelson was wearing a seatbelt; Becker wasn”t, according to the State Patrol.

The vehicle sustained $1,000 damage.

Authorities did not know what caused the car to leave the road.
