Port Townsend: Convicted murderer due to be sentenced this morning

Convicted killer Robert Stoner, 54, of Quilcene is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. today by Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Tom Majhan in Port Townsend.

Stoner was convicted Aug. 30 of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Douglas McFarland during a drunken party in October 2000.

Stoner faces a minimum of 20 years in jail on the murder count plus a five-year enhancement for use of a deadly weapon in a crime. Majhan could sentence Stoner to a maximum term of life in prison.
