Port Angeles: Teddy bears victim of smoky blaze

A Christmas Night fire damaged a bedroom of a west side Port Angeles house on Tuesday evening — including several teddy bears.

Port Angeles city firefighters responded to the 9:15 p.m. call at 1315 W. 16th St. and found black smoke coming out the bedroom window.

Fire Capt. Jamie Mason said the blaze was confined to the bedroom because the unidentified occupant noticed smoke and closed the door before summoning firefighters.

A volunteer firefighter said the teddy bears that burned were in a corner of the bedroom.

No injuries were reported, and no dollar estimate of damage was available.
