Port Angeles: Roughriders blow 20-point lead, lose to Central Kitsap 21-20

PORT ANGELES — On a night when Jesse Long broke the all-time Port Angeles High School rushing record, the Riders were again haunted in the fourth quarter.

Long finished with 173 yards, breaking the school mark on a 65-yard TD run with 7:16 left to play in the third quarter.

That gave the Riders a 20-0 advantage, but Port Angeles lost a fourth-quarter lead for the second straight week, falling 21-20 to Central Kitsap Thursday in a Halloween night football game played before a sparse crowd at a frigid Civic Field.

The Narrows League loss dropped the Roughriders to 1-6 in league, 2-6 overall. They’ll wrap the season up next Friday with a 7 p.m. league crossover game against Stadium at Civic Field.
