SEQUIM — Police are investigating a spree of burglaries that took place between Thursday night and Saturday morning along Washington Street.

Four businesses were broken into and about $750 in cash was taken, said Officer Ron Carter.

Carter said he first responded to a report of a break-in at Pet Town, 680 W. Washington St., at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

He said store owner Roger Maag entered the store, located near the east end of the Safeway shopping center, and noticed merchandise on the floor.

Looking closer, Maag found a hole about two feet wide and one foot high broken through the center of the west wall, which separated his store from Nancy’s Fashions next door.
