PDN participates in TV show airing tonight

and Peninsula News Network are holding TV “meet the press”‘ election forums with the candidates.

All interested voters are invited to attend these forum to learn about the candidates — and watch the interplay between them and three journalists.

The forum done with the Sequim City Council candidates was aired Thursday night on Wave Broadband (formerly Northland) cable TV channel 3 in Port Angeles, Carlsborg and Sequim

The forum with candidates for the Sequim School board will be aired tonight, Friday, at 7 p.m.

Television tapings will be held next week — again, the public is invited to attend:

* Monday, in the Port Angeles City Council chambers at City Hall:

6 p.m.: Clallam County Commissioner District 1, Sue Forde and Steve Tharinger.

7 p.m.: Port Angeles City Council Position 1, Lauren Erickson and Peter Ripley.

7:30 p.m.: Port Angeles City Council Position 2, Cherie Kidd and Jack Pittis.

8 p.m.: Port Angeles City Council Position 3, Grant Munro and Fred Norton.

* Wednesday, Clallam County Courthouse Room 160 (first floor), Commissioners Hearing Room:

6 p.m.: Clallam County Director of Community Development, Bob Martin and Rob Robertsen.

6:30 p.m.: Port Angeles School Board Position 1, Charlie McClain and Pete Peterson.

7 p.m.: Port Angeles School Board Position 2, Jeffrey Hinds and John O’Rourke.

7:30 p.m.: Port Angeles School Board Position 3, Jessica Schreiber and CindyLou Vedin Romberg.

8 p.m.: Clallam County Hospital District 2, At-large Position: Harold Buck and Jim Leskinovitch.

These forums will be aired on channel 3 between Tuesday and Oct. 28, then rebroadcast up until the Nov. 4 general election.

The candidates answer questions from PNN anchorman Dennis Bragg, Peninsula Daily News Executive Editor Rex Wilson and Paul Gottlieb, the PDN’s Commentary Page editor.
