Jefferson County Administrator David Goldsmith will retire at the end of June after 28 years of county employment.
In making the announcement Tuesday, Goldsmith, 54, said he’ll stay on in a limited capacity through the end of the year to help finish some county projects and assist in planning next year’s budget.
The county hired Goldsmith in 1975 as a staff planner in the Department of Community Development. Since then, he’s risen through the county ranks to attain his current post in early 2002.
