All-mail primary elections end in Clallam, Jefferson counties today

Voters have until 8 p.m. today to cast ballots candidates for Clallam County Superior Court judge and Port Angeles City Council, as well as in the District 1 county commission race.

On Monday, 1,176 more ballots were returned, bringing the total to 13,209, or just shy of 30 percent of the 44,467 mailed to voters.

Voters can deposit ballots in drop boxes at these locations:

  • Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles (auditor’s office or outdoor drive-up drop box).

  • Sequim Motor Vehicle Licensing Office, 1001 E. Washington St., Suite 3 (drop box).

  • Forks District Court, 500 E. Division St., Forks (drop box).

    They also can return ballots by mail. Mailed ballots must be postmarked no later than today.

    Voters should check with their local post office to learn when the day’s last mail will be collected from boxes.

    Clallam County Auditor Patty Rosand will make the first count of ballots at 8 p.m. today.

    She said workers hope to include all ballots returned by mail to the auditor’s office today.

    The next ballot count will take place on Friday, although the election will not be certified until Sept. 5.
