Salish to sail on Friday

PORT TOWNSEND — The new 64-vehicle ferry MV Salish will begin service on the Port Townsend/Coupeville route at noon Friday.

A generator problem disclosed on Monday as having the potential to delay the boat’s service was resolved today, the state ferries system said.

A community celebration in Port Townsend will welcome the Salish on Thursday.
