Two taken to hospital after car goes into ditch

CLALLAM BAY — Two people were transported to Olympic Medical Center after a driver attempted to avoid a deer, lost control and came to rest in a ditch.
Judy Twomey, 74, of Neah Bay was driving a 2018 Honda CR-V westbound on state Highway 112 just west of milepost 31 about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday when she attempted to avoid the deer, the State Patrol said.
Her vehicle left the roadway to the right before it stopped in the ditch.
Twomey was injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles. She was being investigated for third-degree driving while license suspended, the State Patrol said.
Zita Guerrero, 55, of Port Angeles was not injured but transported to Olympic Medical Center, the State Patrol said.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts, the agency added.
The vehicle, which sustained reportable damage, was towed from the scene.
