GIRLS BOWLING: Roughriders outroll Wolves in first meeting of year

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles defeated Sequim 5-2 at Laurel Lanes on Monday in the first meeting of the season between the two girls bowling squads.

Sequim started strong and took game one behind a solid 160 from Skyler Krzyworz, but Port Angeles outscored Sequim the rest of the match.

Abby Robinson averaged 185 for the match, bowling a 184 in game one and a 187 in her second game.

“Abby was consistently hitting her marks,” coach Becky Gundersen said.

In game two, Paige Pangaro (156), Xoey Penn, (151) and Zoey Van Gordon (144) contributed solid scores for the Riders, while Nikoline Updike added a 136 for the Wolves.

Total scores for PA were Van Gorden 130-144, Penn 91-151, Pangaro 111-156 and Izzy Spencer 80-95.

Total scores for Sequim were Kimberly Heintz 126-98, Victoria Nava 109-110, Krzyworz 160-103, Updike 124-136, Morgan Kayser 110 and Ginger Hiatt 116.

The Roughiders will visit North Mason on Thursday, while Sequim hosts Klahowya at 3 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Lanes.
