EYE ON CLALLAM: Health board to discuss COVID-19

The Clallam County Board of Health will discuss COVID-19 at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include a health officer’s report on COVID-19, the status of a Phase 3 variance and an update on the Clallam County Social Distancing Center.

County Commissioners

Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on the Carlsborg sewer project at 9 a.m. Monday.

Other agenda items include:

• An agreements with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe for law enforcement services.

• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for a Family and Juvenile Court improvement plan.

• A briefing and call for Aug. 11 hearing on proposed changes to investment policy.

• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) positions, goods and services.

• A memorandum of understanding with Social Security Administration for suspending benefits to individuals during incarceration.

• A right-of-way purchase for the Towne Road dike relocation project.

• An annual update from the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Center.

• A Small Business Development Center contribution request.

• A county administrator and human resources director contract.

• A budget revision for update for Keeping the Lights On grants for COVID-19.

Commissioners will conduct their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Action items include:

• An agreement with Clallam County Economic Development Council to be a sub-recipient for CARES Act funds.

• An amended agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for the North Olympic Lead Entity for Salmon.

• An agreement with the Quileute Tribe to lease a tribal building for Sheriff’s Office business.

• A bid opening for an HVAC replacement at the county’s Third Street building.

• Notice of an Aug. 4 hearing for a resolution authorizing sale of county tax title property and setting terms of sale.

• A resolution authorizing an expenditure from the Clallam County Heritage Advisory Board grant fund.

• A resolution to initiate a county road project for Dry Creek Road utility relocation.

• A 10:30 a.m. public hearing on an proposed ordinance amending county code for the Opportunity Fund.

Port Angeles city

The Port Angeles City Council will hear a presentation on Olympic Communication Action Programs (OlyCAP), Serenity House shelter and COVID-19-related updates at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Action items for the council’s consideration include:

• A resolution in support of progressive revenue policies for the state.

• A resolution on parking lot activity and a right-of-way permit fee waiver.

• Ordinances adding chapters in city code recognizing Indigenous People’s Day and Juneteenth.

Sequim schools

Sequim School Board members will hear a presentation on the first draft of the 2020-21 budget when they meet at 6 p.m. Monday.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will review results of a state audit when they conduct a special meeting at noon Tuesday.

They will hold a regular meeting at 1 p.m.
