Some 30 to 35 people gathered at the intersection of Sims Way and Kearney Street in Port Townsend on Friday as part of a solidarity protest in remembrance of Stonechild Chiefstick, a Native man killed by Poulsbo police on July 3, 2019.

Friday marked one year since Chiefstick’s death, which locally ignited conversations about police interactions with Native Americans.
