CARLSBORG — Regional Direct Delivery Fire Academy class 19-5 recently graduated 15 firefighters from six North Olympic Fire Departments.

The regional direct delivery model pairs state and local resources to facilitate basic firefighter I training for rural communities.

The class met Friday nights and all day on Saturdays and Sundays for 14 weeks between Sept. 7 and the Dec. 15 graduation.

The students, who are all volunteers, attended 240 hours of classes and practical exercises led by instructors from East Jefferson Fire-Rescue and the Port Angeles Fire Department.

The majority of the training was conducted at Clallam County Fire District #3 Training and Operations Site on Carlsborg Road but other departments hosted some of the training as well.

The graduates are:

• East Jefferson Fire-Rescue: Jesse Cordova, Halie Duke, Ryan Gutierrez, Matt Kaldahl, Matt Sheehan and Shenoa Snyder.

• Clallam County Fire District #1: Avery Ironhill and Keith Thompson.

• Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue: Angie Caiola, Malachi Delano, Tristan Lowman, Marty Martinez and Joshua Williams.

• Clallam County Fire District #3: Jesse Banning, Brent Lovell, Nick Pettit, Christina Reeves, Josh Washburn and Jayme Williams.

• Quilcene Fire-Rescue: Zack Torres.

• Discovery Bay Fire Department: Abbigail Kithcart.
