EYE ON JEFFERSON: Community health data to be shared Monday

Jefferson County Public Health and Jefferson Healthcare will conduct a special joint meeting to review progress on the Community Health Improvement Plan at 1 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be at the Cotton Building, 607 Water St., Port Townsend.

Siri Kushner, an epidemiologist, will provide a presentation on early community health assessment data, and Lori Fleming and John Nowak, co-executive directors of the Community Health Improvement Plan, will provide metrics and an evaluation.

Public comment is expected to be taken at about 2:50 p.m., or it could be provided in written form via email to boh@co. jefferson.wa.us.

The health department’s regular meeting on Nov. 21 has been canceled.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss first draft of a recommended broadband plan at a special meeting at 10 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be at the Chimacum Fire Hall, 9193 Rhody Drive, Chimacum.

Port Townsend schools

The Port Townsend School Board is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The meeting will be in room S-11 at the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.

Quilcene schools

The Quilcene School Board will conduct a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday

The meeting will be held in the boardroom, room 9, inside the school, 294715 U.S. Highway 101, Quilcene.

Brinnon schools

The Brinnon School Board will discuss an upcoming replacement levy at 4 p.m. Monday.

The special meeting will be at 46 Schoolhouse Road, Brinnon.

Board members will discuss the proposed replacement levy and if they want to pursue a different type, how much it would cost and what the money could be spent on.

No action is expected.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider ratifying their maintenance collective bargaining agreement when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at station headquarters, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.

Commissioners also will hear a proposed amendment for the fire district’s 2019 budget and consider the resignation of its volunteer and training coordinator.

They also will have an agenda item on filling the district’s fire code technician position.

Port Townsend city

No Port Townsend City Council meeting was scheduled for this week.

Neither the Jefferson County commissioners nor the Port Townsend City Council meet on the fifth Monday of the month.
