Susanna Baker of Port Ludlow won an honorable mention at the National Norwegian-American Folk Art Exhibition for this dome-topped chest painted in the Vest Agder style of rosemaling.

DECORAH, Iowa — Susanna Baker of Port Ludlow earned Honorable Mention in the National Norwegian-American Folk Art Exhibition held at Vesterheim from June 21 through July 27.

Vesterheim is the national Norwegian-American museum and heritage center in Decorah, Iowa.

Baker won the award in the rosemaling category for a domed chest she painted in the Vest Agder style.

According to a press release, rosemaling is decorative painting on wood with very regionalized styles.
