BEAVER — One lane of U.S. Highway 101 was blocked for nearly four hours Tuesday for a non-injury, hit-and-run collision north of Forks, the State Patrol said.

Trooper Chelsea Hodgson, State Patrol spokeswoman, said the driver of a southbound box truck crossed the center line and struck the rear of a loaded log truck in the northbound lane.

The collision, which was being investigated as a hit-and-run, occurred near Conley Road just east of Beaver at about 1:12 p.m., authorities said.

Hodgson said the logs had shifted and needed to be reloaded into another log truck trailer.

Alternating traffic was in effect until 5:15 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said.
